Science Museum in Granada

The Science Park is an interactive science museum of 70,000 m², located 15 minutes’ walk from the historic centre of Granada. Since its inauguration in 1995, it has been the most visited museum in Andalusia.

Seven permanent exhibition pavilions, 5,000 m² of temporary exhibitions, the Digital Planetarium, the Cultural Gallery, the Library, the Cinemas, the Auditorium and the Science Windows are some of its spaces. They bring together health, the environment, the scientific legacy of Andalusian culture, architecture, literature, physics, chemistry, mechanics and astronomy, among other subjects.

The Science Park is also an open-air museum with 27,000 m² of green areas in which there are also exhibition areas such as the Observation Tower, the Tropical Butterfly Farm, the Astronomical Observatory, the Raptors in Flight Workshop, the Botanical Tours, the Vegetable Labyrinth, the Astronomy Garden and the Mental Gymnastics Tent.

Opening Hours

  • Tuesdays to Saturdays and Mondays before public holidays from 10am to 19pm.
  • Sundays and public holidays from 10am to 15pm.
  • Closed on Mondays [except public holidays and the eve of public holidays], Jan. 1st and 6th, May 1st and Dec. 25th.

It is advisable to consult at the ticket office the special opening hours in some exhibition halls and spaces such as the Observation Tower, the Planetarium and the Tropical Butterfly Farm.

How to get there, location and parking

The Science Park is located at Avenida de la Ciencia, s/n, in the city of Granada. It can be reached by walking from the city centre down Calle Recogidas, turning on the Camino de Ronda to the left until the Ribera del Río Genil, turn right again on Calle Los Juncos and left again on Avenida del Mediterráneo until you reach the main entrance.

If you use the bus, the nearest lines that pass through the enclosure are SN5 (Parque de las Ciencias Stop), C5 (Parada Alejandro Otero), SN2 and SN3 (Ronda- Jardín de la Reina or Ronda-Alcázar del Genil), U3 (Ronda-Jardín de la Reina or Avda América 8 – Centro de Salud Zaidín); if you use the High Capacity Line, the nearest stop is Paseo del Violón.

To get to the Granada Metro from anywhere in the city and belt, the nearest stop will be the Pickup Stop or Alcázar del Génil, depending on your location.

The Science Park of Underground Parking under its facilities accessible from the same avenue. The price per hour is 1,20€ tax inc. If you visit the museum, the price for the first 3 hours is only 1€.

Tickets and prices

Every 28th of February, on the occasion of Andalusia Day, the entrance to the park is FREE. Seniors (65 and over), 6€. Adults (ages 18 to 64), 7€. Children (ages 3 to 17),6€. Children under 3, Free ticket. You can book your tickets to the Granada Science Park.
